He shuffles in and shakes,
the rain from his umbrella.
Tries but, misses when he hangs his coat.
Let's it fall, unknowing to the floor.
He leans over and pets the cat,
sorts through the mail.
Realising that they are all bills,
He tosses them on the counter.
He walks over to the book case,
From many he selects a book to read,
turns on his reading light,
Quietly sits in his chair.
All alone he reads.
