"To all those who wish to quit"
I use to drink just enough to get drunk,
I actually thought the taste really stunk.
I was braver and bolder if I had a couple of beers,
Facing problems was easier,it seemed to drown my fears.
I would be happy go lucky as long as things went my way,
People learned to watch what they would do and say.
I couldn't even remember driving home some nights,
That was when my husband and I had some knock out fights.
When I think back now, I realize how foolish I was to
drive at all,
Especially...when I remember all those times I broke
the law!
It has been a lot of years since I took my last drink,
I realized I was in trouble,it made me stop and think.
I want to thank my family and friends for seeing me through,
I especially want to thank God for letting me start my life
anew.
