Gift of Peace

I will lie down in peace and fall asleep,
As I pray to the Lord for my soul to keep;
For though I may be physically be alone,
Our Heavenly Father's presence is known;
The Lord our God shall keep me secure,
Because I know that His love will endure;
Always and forever I can rely on the Lord,
He gives me strength through His Word;
He blesses by filling my heart with peace,
Causing my fears and anxieties to release;
Heaven's dawn is ready to break through,
Light to fade the darkness and bring anew;
Chasing away death's shadow of despair,
Guiding us to a path of peace for to share;
May the Lord of peace give to you and me,
The joy and happiness to stay permanently;
May the peace of the Lord be never ending,
As the Lord our God continues sending;
His love and compassion for you to wear,
But not forgetting to send Him your prayer.
