I almost care about life
And all the interest that surely follows.
Am I to care about the
  American way?
Apple pie and baseball games?
  I want neither,
For neither holds my gaze
For a light moment in time.
Pie can be eaten,
  When it's gone, it's gone.
And baseball?
  Screw it.
It's almost necessary to be a boob
When the camera pans your way…
Urban city areas,
  Ghettos, living in the projects,
The PJ's.
One of my neighbors deals crack,
I let that be their business,
They need a way to raise all 5 of their kids.
‘Round here, there's always a fire
  Or a gun going off.
No one is safe,
  Except me.
I am fine here, I'll endure.
  I know better
Than to fall prey to idiocy.
An Indian should care not for drugs,
Only peace of mind.
If we can't achieve it, we'll go crazy.
Most of us are born crazy.
When the lay us to rest,
We'll rise up, sane,
  Correcting all that is mistaken.
