Poetic Verses

Christ child, Teacher, Jesus, Savior

Oh Christ child,
If I stood before your bed of straw,
those years ago, and knelt and saw
that you were poor and yet my king;
would you forgive my short coming

Oh teacher,
If I'd followed where you would lead
and of your teachings would take heed,
as we traveled the countryside;
would you comfort me if I cried

Oh Jesus,
If I'd seen you to the cross nailed,
with your body limp and face paled,
on the day you died for me;
all my love would you see

Oh Savior,
If you are with me through every day,
when I hurt and can't find my way,
please find it in your loving heart
to help me make a brand new start
