Stage Fright
SultryRose's Signatures
Can I dance once again
as if no one was watching,
put on my costumes and
become absorbed in the
mideastern drumbeat?
Can I close my eyes
and pretend as if
I'm just dancing
for my mirror after
a few glasses of wine?
Can I become lost in the
ancient rhythms as they
call to my soul,
sensuous and beautiful?
Can I concentrate knowing
that you're watching me,
with anticipation,
your eyes riveted to
my swirling hips?
I've danced in front of
audiences of thousands
but never, never for
one adoring fan,
barefoot on
my own native soil.
