Climb the highest mountain, punch the face of god

Cannot Stand On My Own

I sought out the power, the will
To stand up but
I cannot stand up
For upon my shoulders
Lay grief, shame, pain.
I'll never stand up
Again, I'll never care to do
Such a thing.
Sadly, on my head, weighing
Me down are tons
Of worries, remorse, guilt,
Disapproving of love.
Letting the screams bury me
Into the mud, dirtying
The thoughts I've cherished
For so long. Now
They are gone with me and
I lay here on the
Cold, filthy ground, near a
Pile of gravel;
Near a pile of has-been
Emotions that no one
Ever cared to sift through.
Lonely in my hole,
Pondering my age, discussing
Nothing with no one,
Too scared to stand up on
My own damn legs.
