Reflections
Reflections of days gone by
The face in the mirror
wrinkled, the hair gray
No one from yesterday
would recognize him today
Once up on a time, decades ago…
he was young, strong and bold
Life just seem to flow and
everything he touched
turn to gold
He ventured into the world with awe…
where he learned of many things from all
The oceans he sailed were deep…
the mountains he climbed were tall,
and the people he knew were true
But time has passed him by …
and no longer does he believe
in that aging lie
Now he sets and wonders why…
as old friends march one by one
to that last roll call in the sky
Reflections of people he knew…
and places he’d been, those are
times forever gone by
Etched on his soul…
they will never, never die
But upon reflections...
he now must rely
