Truth

Tell me what do you see standing before you?
a happy or sad girl?
maybe the smile covers the pain
look into my soul deep down
do you feel the same?
I have never had no real devotion
my head has been messed with
but they can't change my thoughts
I rather die if I couldn't have freedom of speech,
freedom to think my own thoughts
am I a hardass?
I don't think so but only if I stepped outside myself
would I truly know
honesty sometimes breds hate
isn't that unique within itself?
the truth is a bitter pill I can't always take
the mirror would shatter if I let my insides come out
the insecurities would be a gaping wound
if I seem happy sometimes it's  because I am mascrading the truth
the truth is the layers aren't that thick
if you truly look you will find the proof
that I am a lost young woman still seeking purpose
haven't find it but there is always a first
and I am going to find it one day
and that's the truth....I think.
