We really are just simple creatures;
Backing up the van
Into our garbage cans,
Placing blame on each other for being dumb.
Simple in a sense that
Two hours from now
We'll laugh about the two
Long white scratches on the
Side of the cherry red van.
We'd ruined mom's van…
But it took her two months to notice it!
HAR!
We are simple creatures enjoying
Simple pleasures such as
Going down steep hills at 80 mph,
The back end of the van
Flipping up.
We could have been seriously hurt
But we just laughed
And vowed never to tell mother darling
Or father darling.
Oh the madness we shared!
Simple creatures joy riding!
HA!
We are simple creatures, sadly.
All we do is laugh at each other
For being freakishly stupid.
I laugh at you because you don't
Have a girlfriend and
You laugh at how I have no friends.
We miraculously hold each other up.
You are my shoulder to lean on,
And you can tell me anything,
But if you take the batteries out of my walkman again,
Your body shall sway from a tree.
HEE!
We cannot help being two simple creatures,
For our house lacks enjoyment.
Instead of waking you up
For school,
I'll let you sleep for a few hours,
And let you feel the wrath
Of our unemployed father.
You'll laugh in his face
And hide the van keys from me…
And take all my money…
And driver's license…and my respect for you.
It's not funny anymore.
We simple creatures joyously torment each other.
All we have is each other.
You're torturous
And all I can do to stop your havoc
Is let the cat
Hock up a hairball on your
Damn mattress.
We'll keel over in laughter (eventually)
For we are
Simple creatures…
…
Well,
Maybe you're just a simple creature.
