A Beggar's Plight

‘She' was a beggar,
Sitting on the temple steps.
Torn saree,
She expertly spread,
To collect the coins
And to buy a loaf of bread.

The beggarly blood
Running in her veins,
I couldn't see
Through my eyes even with strains.

Her beauty attracted
Many to pay,
Their eyes just demanding
Lust and lay.

‘Me' was watching
That dreadful scene,
One gentleman was enforcing
Her I mean.

A bundle of money,
He put in her hand.
She couldn't smell,
Her ugly plan.

Some words
Were exchanged,
Seemed,
The man won the game.

He whispered ‘she'
To follow him free.
Now nothing can stop,
Her going on the Top.
The love of greets
In the exclusive bad streets.

‘She' was about
To leave the place.
The man was smiling,
Keeping down the face.

I couldn't bear
His serpentine smile,
'Me' became dumb,
Couldn't think for a while.

The time was short,
To act and abort.
And didn't want his car
To click and start.

I enforced me there,
All the way bare
Strongly objected
Foiled his dare.

To see this act,
‘She' was astonished,
To know the fact.
Immediately she did react,
To complete the criminals enact.
