My Golden Ladder

For Gemma, Just a thankyou for all your support, and just to let you know not only are you my cousin, but another sister and true bestfriend. Thankyou.

Thankyou for keeping my eyes open,
Showing me streets I never would have known,
Thankyou for keeping your arms open,
And never leaving me alone.

You were there the night it happened,
And again the morning of the mind attack,
You held my soul as I was told,
He would not be coming back.

So many times I blamed myself,
My world fell before my eyes,
You were there to catch my world,
You were there to catch my cries.

Your troubles turned to air,
As I sat with hatred,
You gave me my breath again,
With my ladder you created.

Step by step you climbed with me,
Held the sunlight on my face,
You continued to mime my shadow,
Held out hands, just in case.

Everyone but you relised,
That due to sacrificing your fame,
Showed me another perception of life,
It made me smile again.

I know not intentially,
You've taken on the role of "Dadda,"
But you now stand where he once stood,
Thankyou for being my golden ladder.
