SultryRose's Signatures

Awakened in the night,
with no mere delight,
a familiar voice was calling me,
but no torso there to reveal to me.

Calling out my name with wonder,
and repeating it again just a bit softer,
wakening to his voice realizing whose,
I stayed awake through an endless night.

Deepened is my sleep again,
another venture I now endure ,
awakened by thunder at the door,
a well-known voice was summoning me.

Jumping out of my snuggled existence,
in shock was I though not knowing why,
for as I searched and called out loud,
my fright did not just come about.

Slowly I opened my front door with fear,
and with no wonder, to see no one there,
crying out loud to a presence not there,
yearning to perceive, but petrified to hear.

Realization finally entered within,
this voice I heard was during my sleep,
with no  understanding of how this could be,
I sat me down and began to weep.

Tears of fright were flooding my soul,
my heart aching and beating so,
called out to others seeking endurance,
just hearing their voices tendered me so.

Another endless night has come to a halt,
for a new day has yet to behold,
the new beginnings of life's unknown,
enhance one's past as they come and go.
