God, please give me wings to fly, so I may soar
Please, help me on this long flight
Please make my wings light but very strong
For they have to last me my whole life
I think I may be growing new ones
And they're causing a great pain
I haven't yet the strenght to fly
So I jump and flap but all in vain
My wings are not yet fullgrown I'm afraid,
They don't have to be silver or spun of gold
Please make them extra roomy for me
Somehow to hold all my fears
Then seal them with your blessings
And warmly wrap them in your love
So I don't have to hold back from taking off
Even though I hear all the time your call
God, I'm coming home to you
Please help me on this long flight
If you would only help my wings to grow fast
You would see me at last soaring ever upward in the sky.
