Faculty Of The Mind: By Michael Ssemakula

DEDICATED TO: ALL AFRICANS FROM A To Z

You are saluted with all due respects
As the drumbeats hum to the listener's delight
Not forgetting the insights of those who came before us

The populaces in here eat fresh red beef of the black cows
That graze on green pasture, drink pure crystal sparkling
Spring mineral water and produce white milk with yellow butter

We are endowed with a pleasant weather all year round
Heavens kiss grounds with ample rains and lots of organic foods
What a wonderful world of green hills and mineral resources!

God gave us wings and Mama Africa; you taught us how to fly

The children down here play while the sun watches over them
What they ever know is love blended with a well-be-fitting freedom
Peering into the future and hoping that one-day they'll grow bigger

Swamps, rivers and lakes send high regards to their elder oceans beyond us
The lions, crocodiles, antelopes, zebras, hippos, giraffes, elephants and birds
Are having fresh steam baths as the sunset ushers in the pacific bright moon
The fragrant nights; while the wind sways the trees, heavily loaded with fruits

Affluent with every dialect ever spoken on earth and from the fallen towers of Babel
Africa my mother land, a strange piece of land that is engaged in humorous mayhem
We are happy of what we have; yet still greatly bonded with what we dont know
