Have dropped you in my lap once more,
To decipher what it is you mean
To the existence of humankind.
You have spoken up
When I was too shy to do so…
You have yelled
When I was too confused to do so…
You have cried
When I was too ashamed to do so…
You have become my gravitational pull,
And I am drawn to you each and every time
You walk on by.
Your lil bits of brilliance
Are what have left you
Smack dab right in the middle of my world,
The core of my world,
Never should you leave me,
But I shall let you go anyway
For if it is love,
I will want you to go.
I'd rather not have you stay in a place
That makes you so unhappy.
I would give you away to keep from seeing
Your eyes dismayed as if by
Some mysterious loss.
Your lil bits of brilliance
Were what I looked forward to
Each day the sun rose
And each day the sun set,
But I chose to set you free from my world,
A world in which emotions are stronger
Than those weapons of mass destruction
You've heard tell about on the news.
