Just a little note about this one...
Michael (Metal Micky)
Was a work mate of mine, he was a hemophiliac he had to have his blood changed on a regaler basis.
I wrote this because I still feel very bitter at his loss...He was one of those people you only meet once in your life time.
A great lad, a great friend, sadly missed.
They say only the good die young, true in this case.
Did you ever look into the eyes of someone?
Who told you they were dying, dying at your feet
Like a sledgehammer the words hit you
The words from a friend in hospital
One you have gone to visit, one you have gone to meet
How could I find the words to console him?
And tell him not to worry all would be all right
No matter how hard I searched for the right words
They would not come out try as I might
When the words HIV positive he whispered
Were tearing through my brain
I knew with the sinking feeling in my heart
Within a year I would never see him again
Just like a child he sat there lost and huddled on the corner of his bed
How my heart went out to him with the words that he said
He lifted his head saying with so much emotion filled with so much dread
Telling me I'm frightened and Derrick I am so scared
Those words will haunt me forever and oh God yes I cared
Bad blood they gave him infected with Aids pumping through his veins
Yet they brought him back and fed it to him time and time again
Transfusing him the death sentence and God they knew it the thought is so insane
The blood they gave him bought and sent all the way from the good old U. S. of A
Why the hell did they use it? a good friend would still be with us to this very day.
Sixty thousand pounds they handed him that was the price
To put up with all the pain and misery hell and tormented strife
That's the figure they came up with and paid him for his life
How can you put a price on any human's head?
For what use is money when your lying in your coffin and you are dead.
