Life or DeathTwo things certain are taxes and death, Life's unsure till taking your last breath; That's what so many may want to think, With 70 or 80 years just gone in a wink; Your life maybe cut short by an act of war, Or weed killer amiss for gin that you pour; If you get mugged could make you a stiff, Or loosing your balance on top of a cliff; Maybe it could be sooner just by accident, Or longer on the medical care was spent; Maybe you found the fountain of youth, Or a secret formula found by a super sleuth; Possibly you might live longer as a vampire, Or found a cryogenics scientist was to hire; Maybe your life was extended by transplant, Or a witch doctor did a spell-binding chant; But consider eternity rather than extended, When your life on this earth as been ended; Pray to repent to God and in Christ believe, And you'll have everlasting life to receive.
