when i think of that night
and the nights that came after
and so on
and so forth..
i lay there thinking of you
(our unborn child
kicking inside me)
and all i could think of
was an elephant..
an elephant sitting on my chest.
i remember feeling a wee bit crushed
and my heart was a little less than tomato pulp
i think you would feel that way too
if a two ton mammal sat on you.
so, when i think of that night
and the nights that came after
and so on
and so forth..
i laying thinking of you
(and our unborn child i would bear alone)
and all i could think of was an elephant.
