Don't Prejudge Me

This is a poem that came to me while I was watching the endless coverage of the Kobe Bryant and Michael Jackson cases. I  find many people are already convicting them and we are supposed to be innocent until proven guilty not the other way around. Let's wait until all the evidence comes out before we make judgements.

Have you ever walked a mile in my shoes?
do you really know me?
I think you already have, you made your mind up already on who I am
was you there? do you see me do it?
I am not in jail, so please don't already convict me
before you judge me, consider your fate also
and see the good and not the mistakes
listen to the facts first
then decide if you should give me a break
nobody's perfect, everyone falls
I am not immortal, I am just like you human after all
so please treat me with fairness
please hear both sides before you make up your mind
all I ask is don't prejudge me
you never know when it could be you in my shoes.
