With Honors: A U.S. Soldier's Story

Today I stand before you
What do you see
I have given my life
So others can be free
I know it may seem
War is unending
Just open your eyes
Let's get real & stop pretending
To be a United States citizen
Are a privilege & not a right
You are able to be free
Because of my fight
Everyday I often wonder
When terrorism, haltered & killing will cease
I close my eyes
Resting my heavy heart
Praying for solace & peace
I know that if I were to die
It would not be in vain
Just keep me in your heart
Honor my name for this is not goodbye
It is ok to be angry
Even shed several tears
I gave my life for you
So freedom can be given for years
