Some Kind Of StrangeThis poem was written for my late partner Antony, born 27.05.80 - died 06.09.03. ------------------------- The darkness closes in around me, Absorbed by the skin, As the prey, I lie here waiting, For this hole to trap me in, The numbness of my heart fades, As does the silence in my ears, Blood is flushed through my body, My eyes swallow my tears, A sheet of ice blows over my arm, Send shivers down my spine, Some kind of strange is lay here with me, This some kind of strange I call mine, The darkness is suddenly lightened, Though no illusions in this dreamlike zone, Although I am not dreaming, I am not alone, The light strangeness takes a hold of me, Though not as physical as it seems, This strange whispers into my mind, A glass conversation with a variety of themes, It leads me away from the blackness, And for this I give it pardon, The tinkling throughout my veins, As I am guided to it's garden, Overwhelmed by the peaceful whistles of Angels, All questions answered true, This some kind of strange is not strange at all, For Ant, I know it's you. -------------------------- Tara Bennett Vote for this poem
