Now that I am  60 ................

Now that I am  60
And I an far too old
To care what people think
Or do as I am told
And I really just don’t care
If people point or stare
So I’m turning back the clock
And growing long my hair
Sweep it in a ponytail
In a band of midnight blue
And have on one ear lobe
A little rose tattooed
And have the other pierced
With a little golden ring
With a little polly parrott
Sitting on a swing.
I shall wear odd holey socks
I can never find a pair
When I go to where I left ‘em
They’re never bloody there
I’ll try to embarrass my kids
Those lovely dear dear  folk
And try to make them see
Life is a  transient joke
Oh I’ve potentially many years
Before I’m turned to ashes
To really misbehave
In many wondrous thrashes
'Cos I really am too old
To care what people think
Or do as I am told
