Where Would I Be Without You

Without you by my side
I know that I would be
Just like a lonely sailor
Who is lost upon the sea

I'd set adrift on waveless tide
No breeze to carry me
No north star to help me find my way
No lighthouse now to see

Without you by my side
I know that I would be
Just like a stranded astronaut
Circling space for all eternity

I'd orbit every planet
Never knowing which one was home
I'd watch the stars floating past
Left in solitude I would roam

Without you by my side
I know that I would be
Just like an empty garden
In which no one did plant a seed

No hummingbird to sing a sweet song
No refreshing day after Spring showers
No busy bee to sip the nectar
Just brown earth devoid of flowers

Without you by my side
I know that I would be
A single harp strumming a chord
Trying to play a symphony

No drum to help me keep a tempo
No violin with strings so sweet
No pages with music notes for help
And a spotlight shining down on me

Without you by my side
I know that I would be
A person other than myself
A soul and spirit left incomplete

Just empty arms with no one to hold
A dreamer without a dream come true
A heart that always skips a beat
Thats what I'd be without you
