Thanksgivings  of the Past

~Eagle Sigs~

Thanksgiving Traditions

Thanksgiving traditions keep changing through the years,

Departed members of the family come to mind often as
holidays near.

I can remember us trying to decide rather we should go to my husbands' family first...or mine;

We don't have that decision to make anymore...there is no
place else to dine.

I'd give anything to have another hectic Thanksgiving;
running here and there,

Trying not to hurt anyones' feelings...eating extra
just because we care.

I still recall those days and wishing we could stay home,

I'd take those wishes back in a minute...if only I'd known.

Known enough to appreciate being wanted by so many,

Especially when there are some people...not wanted by any.

Your friends and family...hold them near to your heart,

The world as you know it will never be the same after
they depart.

My table doesn't seem the same anymore without having the
help and  company of my mother,

So if you have the chance to go to your loved ones for Thanksgiving...go for there may never be another.
