Christmas Comes But Once A YearChristmas comes but once a year, And with it brings joy and sorrow, Thoughts we have from the past... Can mar a new tomorrow! Christmas is a time to reflect, On past things in our life, Not all good but sorrowful to, Hurt and pain and strife! But, be not of heavy heart, Just lift your head up high, Soldier on, the past is gone, It's no good asking why! Christmas comes but once a year, And so we move forward and on, Think of the future, not of the past, And before you know it...you've won! So ask yourself this today, As Christmas day draws near, What is it you want most in life? What is it that you fear? Face your fears head on, And always remember what I say, There's always a shoulder to lean on, And it's waiting there every day. So at Christmas time, reflect, But please don't dwell on the sad, Lift your head high, don't ask why, And things won't seem so bad. It's almost that time again, And as the day draws nearer, Brush off those blues, the choice is yours, To begin a brighter and better year! You never have to feel alone, For you have friends about, You have their ears and shoulders, And you can use them any day. Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem |
