The Dawning of a New DayGreeting the Dawn Listen to the exhortation of the new dawn, Look at a new day as the night has gone; It is life, the very essence of this life, In a brief course lie the trials and strife; A very verities and realities of existence, Resulting from our consistent persistence; The glory of action that God has brought, Getting up out of bed to pray as we ought; The splendor of beauty over the land, Marveling at the sunrise seen firsthand; Yesterday is but a memory of my past, With tomorrow as a vision to contrast; But today well-lived for all it makes, From yesterday's happiness it takes; Every tomorrow with a vision of hope, In God's plan to comprehend the scope; Look well therefore to this very day, To praise the Lord in all and every way; Be eager for challenges to come upon, And salute this day with a new dawn.
