To Heavens Door

Walking down a path
Of time worn cobblestone
To a destination
In my mind I have known

And as I go
A smile adorns my face
Footsteps fall free
In a unwavering grace

Lily of the valley
From a garden does grow
Grass peeks through the cracks
And I know soon I'll be home

A sigh slips from my lips
Watching children at play
Oak trees with arms stretching out
Bright sun to help me find my way

To heavens door
Quickened now is my pace
Knowing haven lies closely
In your arms sheltering embrace
