M's Poetry

The Phone Call

You called me the other day
saying you needed me
it's funny it feels like deja vu
all over again
I don't know anymore what to believe
at one point I thought I knew you
but over time I realized maybe I didn't
your voice seemed so lonely
I admit I wanted to reach through the phone and hold you
but something stopped me, oh yes the past a bitter reminder
but I can't stop caring through I have tried to distant myself
somehow our paths always seem to cross
and maybe this time you truly have been wronged
your voice crackled, my heart stop for a second
a wave of sympthany came over me
and I decided right then I would be there for you
in your time of need you can count on me
it's my secret one day I just might share it with you
I never truly stopped loving you
but maybe you already know
you did call me in your time of need.
