Story Of A Girl

She has it all in the palm of her hands
But she had to fight for it like waves on the sands
Her golden heart continued to beat
When even the strongest of hearts would fancy retreat

But how long can she remain unmoved?
Until life and love lay duly proved
She is strong but she falters still
And it's a force that shakes her beyond her will

A tender poison lies dormant inside
One that she tried to carefully hide
Her jealousy is her steadfast betrayor
Ripping away the happiness, layer by layer

A battle inside, hopefully one she will win
To pass into arms of glory and rise above the sin
Words of the nay sayers fell dull on her ear
And she conquered life against insecurity and fear

So what happens now...does her kingdom fall?
Or will she be the victor in an inner free for all?
Will the battle keep playing into the next chapter
Or will it end with a sweet dream and happily ever after...
