GRANDMA PAT My grandchildren have a special friend, This unique relationship will never end; When they cry or walk around with a frown, She refuses to let life get them down; Makes them each feel like a queen or a king, But she won’t let them get away with a thing! I appreciate how she’s gentle but always firm, The kids are never able to make her squirm; Her yes means "yes" and her no means "no," They ask why, she says "’Cause I said so!" Me they’ve got wrapped around their little finger, But around Grandma Pat they will not linger; When she says "bedtime" or "off to school," What Grandma Pat says is the golden rule; My goal is to be more like Grandma Pat, Not let them walk on me like an old door mat; Her encouraging visits have spurred me on, My frumpy old days of the past are gone; No longer content to be a big fat zero, Grandma Pat's become my personal hero!
