My Baby (Markyla)
The excitement
The joy
It's a girl
It's a boy
Will it have brown eyes
Will they be green
Will "he" be laid back and quiet
Will "she" be mean
Will "he" be healthy
Will "she" have hair
Will the baby know
How much we truly care
The pain of the labor
The joy of the birth
Hoping and praying
They'll make it in earth
The baby is here
A moment long awaited
A beautiful baby girl
December 31st the birth certificate dated
With angel eyes
Long hair of silk
Trying desperately
To drink her first bottle of milk
Mommy and daddy
Right by her side
Kissing and cuddling
A name to decide
Markyla Christiana Ray
Was the name that we chose
Rocking her gently
Her eyes began to close
Markyla is a blessing
a true gift of love
I don't think she'd made it
without help from above
For mommy was sick
Through each and every day
If it weren't for them Angels
She wouldn't be here today
