ANDRE' BUTTON

Andre’ was once no higher than my knee,
The cutest little trick you ever did see!
My most memorable and delightful scenes,
Are of little Andre’ eating
collard greens;

Head held back, mouth open wide,
He’d shake his little head from side to side;
He let me know just how very yummy,
Those greens were as they filled his tummy;

Andre' Button was the apple of my eye,
He was so sweet and always kind of shy;
He grew away from me over the years,
A fact that caused me to shed many tears;

He made other friends, started liking girls,
Been better off if he’d taken to squirrels;
Andre’s female friends to me were all wrong,
But his feelings for them were always strong;

There’s one thing he tries hard not to say,
But out of his affairs, he wants me to stay;
He’s all grown up now and living on his own,
Days of "Andre’ Button" are now long gone.
