M's Poetry

Extremes & Similarities

Well the lights are quickly changing
and the breeze blows by my face as you're leaving
oh how quickly things can go south
no longer in your embrace
was it my brutal honesty that captivated
or is it what made you leave?
we all have choices and you chose your own bed
don't be afraid to lie in it
I assure you, you will find splinters
karma is alive and well
you never respected me why should I keep quiet
all bets are off it's my turn to tell
when it was great all I saw was the possibilities
but when it was bad it was worst than a third degree burn
you have fled you can never come back to me
you are stubborn, so am I
guess having too much in common
silly how it took us this long to learn
differences attract I believe that now more than I ever had
it took the experience of you to make me see clearly
two identical reflections can never co-exist
sooner or later one will cut the other's wrist.
