Spiritual Poems To Touch The Heart

Cold Life

Born January 13th 1959
it must of been a warm winter's day,
else I would not have ventured into the world
for certain I would have waited.
My earliest memories leave a cold chill of
a Mother who decided to leave her mind.
Then there was Daddy
who always mistaked me for a
punching bag.
At sixteen I thought I'd escaped
only to find myself in a prision
called marriage,
That would steal the next stage of my life,
At thirty I broke free taking
two inmates with me.
The next stanza of my life
is the sad one,
living with the cold facts that
this is as good as it gets
for some of us.
At present fortyfive, peace with God
is my greatest desire,
being left alone from those
whose most prized weapon is
the hurtful sword.
