Poor Cinders!

Now Cinders was very sad,
She'd had such a horrid life,
She lived with her wicked stepfamily,
And couldn't take the strife!
There was gona be a party,
And Cinders wanted to go,
But when she asked, all she got,
Was a very definite 'no!'

So she was cleanin' out the oven,
And she said to the three white mice:
'Why are they so wicked...?'
'Why can't they be nice?'
She gave a great big sigh,
And the mice went to their home,
Behind the rotted skirting board,
Now Cinders was all alone!

Suddenly there was a flash of light,
And there stood in the room,
Was a great big divvy in a fairy frock,
And she saw poor Cinders swoon.
'Don't be afraid kid,' The fairy said,
With a great big toothless grin,
'You're goin' to the Prince's do,'
'You're lookin' much too thin!

'Oh fairy, do you mean it?'
Poor Cinders had to ask,
Just in case she was kiddin',
But then the fairy give her a mask.
'Put that on yer gob, girl,'
The fairy said once more,
'No one will know who yer are,'
'While yer dancin' round the floor!'

Well Cinders went the do',
And as you'll all have guessed,
The fairy waved her magic wand...
And Cinders was in her best!
Now as she hung around the do',
The Prince took her hand in his,
Danced with her, cheek to cheek,
They really looked the biz.

But suddenly the clock struck twelve,
 Cinders jumped with a start!
Screamin', 'Oh my God, I've gotta get off,'
But the Prince had claimed her heart.
She legged it out the do',
She ran with all her might,
Her shoe fell off, her rags appeared,
She didn't half get a fright!

Home once more, she went to bed,
To the coal hole where she slept,
Tattered and torn, and all forlorn,
She bent her head and wept!
Next day when she got up,
She thought she'd dreamt it all?
But as she scrubbed the toilet out,
She heard the fairy call...

'Cor blimey!' Shouted Cinders,
To the divvy with the wand,
But the fairy smiled a toothless smile,
Cos of Cinders she was fond.
'Oh my God,' said Cinders,
'What d'ye want with me?'
The fairy went to the window and said,
'Cinders, come and see!'

Cinders was feeling iffy,
But she stood where the fairy stood,
And there he was, coming up the path,
And she froze like a block of wood.
The Prince knocked on the door,
Cos they didn't have no bell,
'Oh blimey,' shouted Cinders,
She was nervous he could tell.

He handed her the shoe,
And Cinders jumped with a start,
But the Prince grabbed Cinders quick,
She'd melted this lad's heart!
Now the fairy chuckled as she floated away,
And she gave the Prince a wink,
He in return winked on back,
And this made Cinders think...

But all was soon revealed,
The Prince explained it well,
The fairy had set them up,
She'd used a special spell,
So now there you have it,
The truth of Cinderella,
The missing shoe and the ball,
And how the Prince became her fella!
