"A true story about our beloved dog who will always hold a place
in our hearts."
You were only two days old when Dustin brought you home,
A little fluff of fur and soaked to the bone.
I was so sure you were too little to survive the night,
But you were determined...you put up a fight.
We fed you with a medicine dropper every two hours around the
clock,
You were so tiny... we could cover you with an insulated sock.
Then you drank from a baby bottle for about three months more,
You were that special puppy I did so adore.
You grew into a beautiful dog and a wonderful friend,
You were a joy to us all,but it came to a sudden painful end.
One morning as usual you followed Bobby out to the truck,
I always worried about that anyway, that morning was the end
of your luck.
The truck that hit you was going so fast you didn't
have a chance,
Bobby had to flatten himself against his truck...the driver kept going without even a glance.
Bobby carried you in and yelled for me to come downstairs,
It was like waking from a nightmare...nothing could help you,
not even our prayers.
I had such a hard time telling you good-bye,
It just didn't seem fair, you were far too young to die.
