The Duchess...Dossie's Message.Such a special and lovely person Doss, Good and kind and true, You always worried and fretted for all, There was nothing you wouldn't do. We have had such a laugh in life, And we have shared many a thought, Supported each other at length, A heart like yours can-not be bought! We had a little chat you and I, And you wanted to tell me some stuff, About how you were a little worried, And feeling a little rough! You didn't want the family sad, Nor feeling down and blue, Just wanting them there for each other, Just as you knew they'd do. You worried and fretted about them all, And of course, worried for your mum too… But Dossie, you were right you know! They really are strong - just like you! You knew this to be so Doss, For yes, you told me true...! And as you said, so shall it be… As much love for you shines through! You were braver than the brave, Doss, And you worried and fretted for all, And there you were, every day, Standing proud and strong and tall! You didn't want your family upset, More, you wanted them strong and true, And as they are - And as you are, They really are strong for you! But we had that little chat - you and I… And yes, we had a good laugh... My adoptive ‘sister' Dossie… And this daft person – Cath! There they are, as you wanted - Supporting each other at length They're all strong and true and focused… They have that ‘special' strength! You are centred in an abundance of love, And your light will never fade… Because for such a Duchess...after all… You're memory is forever stayed! Such a Duchess, such a sister, and a daughter, Such a mum and grandma too… It's only fitting that these feelings... Are shining bright for you! You are not just ‘Dossie' to anyone, You are the star in the sky... You are the dew in the dew drop – You are the apple of everyone's eye! You are the Duchess Dossie... And no matter where anyone goes, You will forever be in everyone's heart, For you are the petal on the rose! You were like my elder sister! I know you know that's true, So with all the love in my heart today, This special poem is especially for you. So Dossie… Go gently where the wind doth blow… And like the whisper on the sea… May you gently blow on the sands of time! And may peace - forever - yours be...
