Poetic-Verses

THE ONE THAT MONEY CAN'T BUY

We have been together for three years and a half,
We built, we dreamt, we divulged our love
towards another;
Though young hearts and penniless we were
yet so madly in love,
Still we promised we would stay firm
against individual mockery.

You were great,
you've changed the bad sides within me,
You gave me assurance
I'd be your true love and the last
I really anticipated then
that we were meant for each,
You bare me all, my heart sizzled
because you were mine completely.

Until one day, a swagger
cynically intervened in secrecy,
Who was successful enough
in all-out effort of mendacity;
When I took the very first flight
and you never give a damn;
The bitch barged in and our dreams
had shattered into pieces.

I'm sure I'm gonna find somebody else
someday,
Who may love me for who I am
and not for what I shall become;
But why I am always bothered
by the shadow of the past?
Was it because you've been too good to me
who loved me then
the time I needed you so?

Yes, you do broke my heart in two
yet I cannot deceive myself,
It's hard to forget you and pretend
I'm back on my own feet again;
I'd rather come out into open
and reveal what I truly feel,
That afterall in this world,
I still love you so! – -SALLIE, the Poetic Journalist
