LONELINESS

 The Valley

 Of Kings

SultryRose's Signatures

Grasping for air to breath,
for one no longer by one's side,
feelings of no one's love to share,
emptiness like darkness without light.

Looking around one perceives,
no comforting does one receive.
in times of sorrow and distress,
inflating one's inclusive emptiness.

Heart beats maintaining one's living,
as seeking tranquility in a storm,
thunder striking like a thorn,
clouds of illusion clearly torn.

Visions of lost encounters,
findings without comprehension,
crying out for constant rescue,
with no one near to lend an ear.

Interrogations plentiful to bear,
yesterday's hauntings stay so near,
as dark shadows still linger on,
no determined wind to set them free.

Love and laughter one has longed for,
much too long to quite remember,
confiscated by the face of a clown,
as reality nests beneath apparitions.

Why must one go on this way,
living traumas with continuity,
darkest of darkness flourishing within,
awaiting dawn's early light to set it free.

Not much more can one endure,
races of the heart with mighty anguish,
confidence once felt so transparently,
vacating space and striking exhaustion.

Feelings of comfort once upon had,
travelled to a very far away land,
seizing one's essence on that very day,
fading in the highways to heaven.

A man-made bird with silver wings,
grabbed self guidance as it soared away,
steered astray through lands obscured,
no more could one look up in the sky.

Withdrawn with the streaming of tears,
affections fleeing with an endless tide,
rivers of torment surpassing an open sea,
loneliness immerses in memory of love.
