Thank GOD For His Thorns #37

Jesus died on the cross
with thorns placed on his head
And if it weren't for all God's Grace
would all of us be dead
And when I think about the cross
and all that life discloses,
I thank God for His thorns
and praise Him for my roses.

If not for the storms of life
would I see a rainbow's shine,
If not for my sorrows
would the joys of Christ be mine,
If not for my battles
would I know my journey's end,
If not for my enemies
would I know you as my friends.

No matter what life brings,
I've learned to stop and pray,
Giving thanks to God on high
for each blessing sent my way
And even in the midst of pain
with all the anguish it imposes,
I thank God for His thorns
and praise Him for my roses.
