Crucify Him

With sounds of condemnation
they yelled crucify, crucify!
the verdict now upon their lips
His sentence was to die.

The clagging of the heavy cross
as it hit and drug the street
was to say I'm carrying sin's load
to everyone which I meet.

Tired, beaten and worn
they spat upon His Face
never before in history have
they shown God such disgrace.

His Heart felt sorrow
as they cast unrenching pain
lonliness filled His Soul while
His Father could'nt look upon
this world's sin and stain.

Then upward He glanced upon Heaven
as the sky drew dark and drear
Father He cried Forgive them they
cannot yet grasp what they've done here.
