M's Poetry

Crossroads

It was my life
my last decision or so it felt
rock bottom I reached
but I could climb back all I needed was some help
but I also knew it was my last chance
it depended on me too
slowly the darkness lifted, no overnight miracles
but one in the making
finally all my hard work paid off
and yes I finally graduated
I took the turning point and for once did it right
no regrets only small ones but not nearly as many
as the other road held
I am so glad peace found my heart
God came into my soul and turned me into a better woman
one that I am proud of, one that finally can smile
it all seems distant now, a thousands of yesterdays
I am control of my life now and man it feels so good
to relinquish and leave all the bitterness
the journey continues but
in a different direction.
