Ren's Pen

God they never knew

They feared of facing man's persecution,
Even though in you there is no condemnation,
Lord you came here from afar,
You longed for them to know who you are.

When you came unto your very own,
By them you were a stranger unknown,
They knew prophecy would one day be fulfilled,
Even when you were crucified and killed.

Oh Lord why did they not know?
You were denied thrice at the cock's crow,
When you were in their midst,
Another betrayed you with a kiss.

The Pharasees called you a blasphemer,
And you came to save the soul of every sinner,
Jesus, you came to make them anew,
One True Living God they never knew.
