Climb the highest mountain, punch the face of god

Isn't there supposed to be a light at the end of the tunnel?

We walked to this tunnel,
After having been lost in a forest of dismay for 2 days.
And in this tunnel we traveled,
For there is always a light at the end of a tunnel.
All of society knows that.
The darkness prevented us from getting far,
Forcing us to follow our senses,
Which have been dulled from years of playing video games.
The stalagmites and stalactites grimaced as we passed,
And all the while
We prayed for this light to be seen.
We approached our third day of loss.
There is nothing to look at but
Bitter darkness.
We've concluded that 3 days have passed,
Our sanity dampened much like our spirits.
Eventually this light will be seen,
We just got to keep it together,
Yet we fight and bicker constantly.
You started it with your preconceptions of
What would Aristotle do? F--k Aristotle!
That b!tch ain't trapped in a never ending cavern as we are.
He's mediocre, like your talents.
You try to be humorous but it sickens my heart.
As we go on, we realize that
We don't know if it's day or night.
Suddenly, up is down, right is wrong,
Cinderella is a comedy and life is a cataclysmic event.
Nothing seems right, since heaven is hell and hell is a zoo.
We've drawn up the conclusions that
We're walking on walls and weren't
Really moving to our destination in the first place.
Breaking down, you attack me
With words of fury about there being no light
And your voice sounds distanced.
My head spun from lack of oxygen.
How I longed for the wind,
I don't remember it's feel, it's texture.
There is nothing here but the
Occasional flutter of bat wings and
The silent drip of water that seems to come from nowhere.
I wonder what our clothes look like,
We can't remember.
We could be naked but we're sheltered.
Soon eternal sleep will conquer us as we walk
To where the light should be.
You turn to me, in hysterics, and claim that we're dead
And a lifetime of sin has left us
Forever looking for that goddamn light because
Isn't there supposed to be a light at the end of the tunnel?
