IN THE DARK
In the dark I’ve time to think,
To reflect on things I’ve done,
Close my eyes dream away,
After the day chores done,
In slumber land my thoughts,
Return to day’s gone bye,
Slowly as I drop off,
The fantasy inspires.
Suddenly I’m a better man,
Than I’ve ever been before,
Money in my pockets,
Fortunes stacked galore.
Alarm starts to rattle,
Blasting abruptly, interrupt me,
Dreams to abate as I wake,
Reality beckons its state.
