Letter of love
I saw her in the park, in the garden
Finding no wonder in this locality
Of my love and rambling fancy
I struck with her luster and beauty.
I gave her my letter of love
She was much older than me
With passion wild and strong
Trembling hand like a wondrous bee.
Complexity of her bright eyes
Change of her facial expression
Progress of her generous feeling
Under the letter, my secret mission.
How difficult was for me
She relapsed into thoughtfulness
I just stood as a gentleman
No escaping of that little stress.
She spoke with such a glow
Of darkness and life I ought to shun
Her eyes swung from one to the other
Her heart swelled with calm emotion
She has not scold me for my imprudence
I turned my brimming eyes away
Her doubts, confusion, felicity melted
She beckoned me out on the bay.
