I lay in my bed in the early hours,
Uncomfortable in my slumber,
Having nightmares, about what I wonder,
As I awaken abruptly from my sleep.
It’s dark the room feels cold and damp,
The musty smell of death fills the room,
I rub my eyes to awaken them too,
As the frosty bitter feeling engulfed me.
Frozen to the bed where I lay helpless,
Aware something or someone was watching,
Shudders rolling down my spin of fear,
I call to the shadows who is there.
My heart starts to pound in anticipation,
But nothing no reply from within the room,
So tiered I lay me back down to sleep,
Morning sunrays shine I rise unhurt fine.
