Prayer of Joy and Sorrow

Psalm 30:11 - 13

Heavenly Father, God of joy and sorrow,
Help me avoid evil lurking in the shadow;
Hear me, O Lord and have pity on me,
To be my helper away from my enemy;
You can change my mourning into dancing,
Your Word teaches my heart how to sing;
O Lord, forever all the thanks will I give,
For all of my wrong doing that you forgive;
Help me to learn what you are teaching,
Towards the goals that you are reaching;
Keep me from judging good from the bad,
And shoot for the things that make me glad;
So they can be part of my spiritual growth,
For my wife, remember all that I betroth;
I trust you will be my faithful companion,
Talking to you in prayer in sweet communion;
Strengthen me in times with a lot of strife,
As I grow through all seasons of my life;
It's through your son that I truly convey,
In the name of Jesus I do pray. AMEN
