BACK TO THE PLAGUE

Running screaming, Bodily wrecks,
Dirty clothes, Unclean poor.
Sordid people, Wandering terrified
Painful screaming, Heaving dogs.

Smell of death, Fires burning,
House in flames, Man’s last cries.
As black smog lingers, House to house,
Crosses on doors, Mark unclean home.

Suffering race, Lay dying in bed,
Disease of death, Hangs overhead.
Rats all are running, Squealing squalling,
People panicking, Desperatly managing.

Families sat praying, Suddenly fires,
roaring combustion, London’s burning,
Vermin all gone, Just lingering stench
The hometown, left smoking,
But no heart broken, Plague wiped out.
